THE FOUNDATION
Our wall system is based on drilling piers at 10’
on
center to a depth equal to the height of the wall.

Each pier is 14” diameter with one # 8 rebar in
the
center that will run up through the masonry column.
THE WALL CONSTRUCTION
The
first step is the construction of the columns.
Each column is built to ensure that the columns
are level and plumb. In order for the top of the wall to be
level, we cut each first course of the columns so that the top
of the wall will be level around each project.

After each column is built, the column is filled
with Type S mortar grout. The top of each column has a small
mortar cap to help shed water.
When necessary, we step up or down the wall to
handle adjustments in the existing grade of the project. The
height of the wall can then be adjusted on 8” increments to
match the owner’s needs.
The second step is the construction of each wall
panel section
Each panel section is begun by packing a
combination of dirt and sand to create a level work area between
each column.

The first course of the panel section is layed
with each end of the course resting on the concrete pier and
inside of the “u” shape end of the column block.
This design enables the wall panels to maintain
stability while allowing for ground movement and shifting to
keep the panels from cracking as you will see in walls designed
on concrete footings. This design also keeps the walls from
tilting over after time as you see with so many masonry walls
with footings and short piers.

In between each course of block we install
reinforcing wire which ties each course together. This enables
the wall panels to maintain their
strength even when the ground under the wall
panel is removed or washes out.
Our system allows for drainage from either
direction so that your project does not hold water. It also
allows for easy access for installing piping or any underground
item even after wall construction.
Another major advantage to our system is that you
can create the look of the wall that is best suited for your
needs.
By using block with split face on one side and
smooth face on the other side, you can create a unique wall just
for your particular situation. And by adding column caps or
stone, you can create a fence with a very striking look.
